My students need a decorative wall to show off their work. The magnetic calendar, from Amazon, will be fun for the students to learn how to read the calendar.
Even though my class has more than 90% students who qualify for free or reduced price lunch; they are hungry to learn and have inquisitive minds! Students, at my school, are mostly English Language Learners. They are hard workers and are eager to learn.
The class is quite diverse!
We have Hmong, Karen, Latino and African American students. A few of the students are homeless. As a second grade teacher, I find that students learn best when they can have hands-on learning. We do much of our learning from games, songs, and cooperative group activities. I like to incorporate life skills like reading recipes and making food to show how reading and math are in our everyday life activities.
