What's the Weather?

My students need a weather and climate exploration center and other resources about weather.

My Students

I work with a bright, high-energy group of students. These kids are from the North Woods and love the outdoors, especially the lakes, rivers, and forests that surround us.

Our district motto is to ACHIEVE, and my class does that daily through academics, character, and behavior.

My classroom is approximately 30% Native American. I am continually impressed at how motivated my students are when it comes to their learning. They are always up for a good challenge and exceed expectations!

My Project

Science is an important part of life. Understanding the world around you is essential. I want my students to better understand weather and climate-related vocabulary, ideas, and themes.

I want my students to ask questions and be able to find the answers with exploration.

The hands-on weather/climate center, books about types of clouds, and measuring humidity will increase my students' knowledge of why weather happens.

My hope is that these resources will foster an excitement about science topics that will lead to more questions and answers. Let's keep our kids thinking and learning, especially when it comes to science!
