What's the Weather Like??

Help me give my students instruments for our weather unit. We don't have any weather tool so, the Davis Vantage Vue Weather Station with WeatherLink Live would connect weather numbers to real life feels like conditions outside.

My Project

The weather instruments will give students hands-on experience in understanding our weather from day to day. Students learn about humidity, clouds, wind speed, temperatures and precipitation. The barometer and anemometer will help students see actual weather tools in action. The Davis Vantage Vue Weather Station with WeatherLink Live will keep students up to date on weather conditions outside.

As we learn about weather terms and tools, students will be able to connect their learning to the hands on equipment.

They will better understand and relate to how the weather instruments work and can use them to help track weather data throughout the unit.

My students are what we call "COVID babies". These students have been the most affected by the "home schooling" that occurred during the beginning of the pandemic. They were in Kindergarten when the public schools shut down. These students missed out on so much foundational learning for reading and math that most of them are still at least one grade level behind in reading and math. They work hard to make up that difference but it's hard. It is imperative they have hands on supplies as much as possible in math and science to help understand ideas and learn important skills necessary to succeed in life.

My goals for this project are to increase student interest and enjoyment in learning again. Science and math are areas where so many of my students can thrive, if given the right supports and supplies. Please help make this possible for my students!
