I was able to add apps to it that were newer than our other older tablets as well. It came in time to give students a chance to use it before they went home for the summer back in June. I look forward to my new students having access to this technology in just a few weeks. Tablets are used for independent time and partner games. Having this tablet allowed for our classroom to be more equipped. \r\n\r\nTablets in the classroom provide a variety of uses. Math drills are the students' favorite games. There is a printing practice and cursive practice app on the tablet that students enjoy as well. There are multiple spelling games and this is my personal favorite. Especially, when two students work together to spell words and build each other up! They are great at supporting each other. \r\n\r\nTablets are nice to have on hand when I have to do student assessments as well. It allows them to work on skills independently while I pull other students over to my desk. Students are very tech-savvy and appreciate the chance to get to \"play\" on the tablets. Some students don't have one at home, so it's also nice to be able to provide them with this opportunity. The bonus is, I load the apps, so I know they are in a safe place and learning is taking place.
