My Students

My students from are a diverse group of learners who have very different learning styles. This particular group of students are motivated learners, but have difficulty learning in traditional ways.

My students are adolescents who are very

creative and artistic.

My students learn best through hands-on, inquiry-based activities.

I try to incorporate activities, and assign projects that will help them make connections to the real-world. This will also motivate the girls in my class-room to strive to do better in Science.

My Project

'PowerMyLearning has a Family Engagement Innovators Program focused on Family Playlists'. Students complete a set of activities in school and then the assignment is carried over to the home where students teach a family member what they have learned using a hands-on activity.

'PowerMyLearning' helps build community by keeping the teacher, student and family in the loop.

Students stay engaged and move towards mastery as they work on digital activities in school. These activities spark their curiosity and help them work at higher levels of learning like Analysis and Synthesis. It also helps the teacher with Professional Development to help engage with families.
