My Students

This group of 20 students is very creative, friendly, funny, and engaging! I work in a Title I school which includes a diverse population of different backgrounds, cultures, and income levels. Our class contains a mix of typically developing students and students with special needs.

Watching my students broaden their minds is the highlight of my day!

They all enjoy growing and learning together in our inclusive classroom environment. They engage in various learning centers, such as dramatic play, art, blocks, reading, writing, and music throughout the day.

My Project

Our current dramatic play kitchen set has survived several groups of children and is now on the verge of being unsafe for the students to use. My students are able to develop several Pre-Kindergarten skills while interacting in the dramatic play learning center of our classroom. We would all love to have a new set to add to our learning environment.

The dramatic play center is by far my students' favorite center to engage in, and it provides the opportunity for multiple students at a time to grow in many domains of development!

By pretending to cook each other meals, writing pretend menus, reading recipes, and counting pretend change, they are able to incorporate reading, writing, math, as well as social/emotional skills all in this one learning center!
