Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are the most amazing people. They are young adults who have overcome and continue to overcome obstacles over which none of them have any control. They strive daily to make changes and achieve goals they did not know were possible. They are realizing the doors that are opened by getting an education.
My students work tirelessly to achieve their educational goals and, in turn, their personal goals.
They not only work toward these goals for themselves, but they also accomplish these for their families. Families of nominal means with little stability who have hoped and dreamed of a better life for their children.
The students I am privileged with which to work, often complete a full day at school and then go to after-school jobs. In many cases, the income from these jobs goes to support their families. My students want more from life and realize the work and dedication that must be applied to accomplish this.
My Project
My students are very active and enjoy the different sports and activities we explore in physical education class. These new racquets and birdies will help my students to continue to develop their skills and passion for the game.
My students love playing badminton!
A donation for this equipment will make a huge impact for my students as well as continue to help keep them engaged and being active. Badminton is something that can continue to play outside of my classroom and can help them to maintain a healthy active lifestyle.
