What’s a Maker Space without a Printer?

My students need a printer to bring their creations to life; to plan a project to build, present a design, or get a 2D image to transfer to 3D. They need a printer!

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our International School we are committed to providing all students with academically rigorous experiences that include world language and a global perspective. STEAM (STEM with the arts infused) is an important part of our students’ daily work, ensuring they develop the 21st century skills that are needed to be successful in school and careers.

In our school’s Maker Space, our 400 students have access to technology and a variety of materials that allow them to develope their ideas and work with classmates to solve problems.

Our school is an inner city, low income school. Our parents want the best for their children and put their trust in the teachers to educate their children.

My students deserve to have access to high level technology, that helps them develop skills and creativity. Our Maker Space provides my students with a space full of technology and room to create, and bring their ideas to life!

My Project

In the Maker Space, my students often work on computers and tablets to create and need to be able to print their projects on a printer, either in color or black and white. They make unique works of art that they would be proud to share, if only they could print them.

My students create designs and plans for projects they want to build in the Maker Space and need a printer to bring these plans to life!

My students often write letters and stories which, when printed, become works of art to share with their teachers and families in the form of posters and books and 3D dioramas. This year, students will be designing projects to print on a 3D printer and their 2D printed designs will be the preliminary designs for this. Without a printer my students are unable to take their projects to finished work.
