With the recent impact of "No Child Left Behind" teachers have had a push to work on children's reading skills. This is often to the detriment of other skills especially in low-income schools. Much time is spent helping children from low-literate families get on-level in reading. This leaves little time to teach math. I would love to have some materials with which to enhance our students' math instruction. These kits would allow my students to practice math on their own either in the class or at home. Each kit is a self-contained way to explore various areas of math. The kits would also be able to be used to increase my low-performing students and help to get them on-level in math. Our classroom would benefit so much from the addition of these kits and I know the children would be encouraged to learn math because of the unique method presented in these kits.
