What Can Technology Do For Our Class?

The two second grade classes need two Acer Aspire laptops to incorporate learning into the classroom through powerpoint, internet use, research and all kinds of uses. We want an interactive learning classroom. We are a title one school and 98%low income. We have no money at this time to be able to purchase laptops for the teachers. The computers we have at the school are in the lab but it is a wait for us to use time in the lab. With these laptops, we can use technology all day in our own classroom. The kids will love to learn this way. I hope we can start as soon as possible. We will do projects in reading, math, science and social studies.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach all subjects in an inner city school in Houston, TEXAS. I teach second grade. My co-worker and I have small classes but we need some technology to get these students engaged in learning about everything in second grade and beyond. We also have four Gifted and Talented students who need to be challenged. We are a title one school- very low income students are here. They do not have any computers at home and our computer lab is very limited and usually the TAKS grades are in the lab and it is very hard for us to teach a lot of info in the lab due to limited time of use. The students love to research and the internet is vital and that is why we are proposing these two laptops.

With these two laptops, we will be able to show lessons online, interactive learning games on the projector and the kids will be able to have field trips everyday due to touring informational websites pertaining to our subjects taught.

The use of technology is so important. Help us second grade teachers able to provide these beautiful children with an engaging real life, interactive view of learning. It is truly needed and vital for our future generation.
