What Am I Supposed to Do, Again?
My students need five sets of math posters, mathitudes, math quotes, and the Ten Commandments of Math poster to decorate our large room.
Do you remember how boring and empty your middle school math classroom looked? What if it was better decorated and motivating? Would this have changed your desire to learn math? My students are walking into a boring empty classroom to learn math, and I'm hoping to change that.
My students are sixth and eighth grade children that are at a crucial stage in their mathematical foundation.
Many of them live in poverty and are disadvantaged. Our school is an excellent school; but unfortunately, we don't receive the same amount of funding as the newer schools. The school itself is old and established. Our students receive a traditional education with a touch of innovation.
These posters will help my students remember abstract concepts we learn throughout the year. These posters and decorations simplify the content and make it easier for the students to understand and remember the material. For instance, one of the posters I am requesting says "f(x) is just a fancy way of writing y." Imagine if your teacher would have decorated your classroom with posters like that. Would you have understood the concept of f(x)?
Your donations to my classroom will awaken my students to a new world of mathematics.
They will become enlightened mathematicians with your help; and will overcome some of the anxiety they may feel about mathematics. My goal is to help my students achieve their dreams, and make them stronger mathematicians. Your donations will make this vision a reality.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
