My students are the BEST! They love coming to school and want to learn! They motivate each other to challenge themselves and support each other through their learning and personal struggles. School is a safe place for them and I work hard to make sure they are comfortable there. They are often reading and publishing work all over the classroom because movement helps them strike up their creativity. My classroom is a room full of diversity! Every student has different needs, interests, and home lifestyle struggles, but in our room we make accommodations to highlight everyone's' strengths.
My students are always coming up with new ideas and creative solutions to problems and with some extra resources, I know that this type of independent thinking will only grow!

My Project
These flexible seating options will allow my students to utilize all of the space in our crowded classroom of 27 and provide a comfortable space for each student. My 5th graders love moving around the classroom to independently read and work on publishing their writing pieces. In a time of teaching where so much rigor has taken over, the choice of selecting where they get to sit can take off stress and allow students to become more engaged with their work. It also gives students the opportunity to work in a variety of groupings with their peers, which is an invaluable skill for their future careers.
No two students are the same, and that is what makes our classroom such a beautiful melting pot of strengths and areas of need.
