My students need books that they can relate to in order to build their reading comprehension and stamina. So many of my students think they are weak readers but I believe they just haven't yet found a book that best fits them! The titles I have selected are in a variety of genres and at a variety of levels so that my students have a wider range of books to pick from! Our titles include Short, Pax, Echo, Positively Izzy and many more. A fostered love of reading in the 5th grade can change the life of a student! Reading is not just about taking tests, but it's about finding enjoyment between the pages of a book that sucks you in and spits you out as a "better you"! With these materials, my students will have the opportunity to experience what it means to savor a book.
