We've Got the Wiggles! Flexible Seating for Gifted Learners
Help me give my students flexible seating options for our classroom! Floor cushions, wobble stools, laptop seats, and light-weight stools will make cooperative learning more comfortable and will keep us moving and engaged around the classroom!
I teach a spirited group of 4th grade academically gifted learners, at one of the highest achieving schools in the district. These students are inquisitive and clever. They have a lot of questions and strive to find answers. They love reading and creating stories.
Curious, enthusiastic, and creative; my students are eager to immerse themselves in any kind of challenge.
They are 21st century learners, using technology daily. From reading to gaming, and everything in between, these students are ready for the future!
My Project
Flexible seating options will allow my students to get up out of their desks and move! This will not only enable them to make choices about where they want to sit, but it will empower them to make choices that are right for them.
Many of my students need movement in order to find their focus.
Gifted learners sometimes demonstrate ADHD-like behaviors. By having floor cushions, wobble stools, laptop stools, and other seating options, my students are free to move around the room and find a work area that suits them.
These items will create an environment that supports all learners!
