Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach at an amazing Title I school where 85% of our students come from a low socioeconomic status. Most of the families I serve have working parents with little or no education. Comprised of mostly minorities, our school has a spirit of unity that shines through. We are a large family nearing 900 students. The passion for learning is felt when you walk through the doors. I work with children with special needs in grades K through 5th. My students are loving and kind and have real determination. I strive to teach them the skills they need to be active participants in our community.
My Project
My students and I will utilize the stickers daily. In my classroom students can earn rewards such as bubble gum and gummy bears with your help I can keep these popular items in stock.
The Astrobright colored paper, and cardstock, thermal laminating pouches, and Velcro will be used to create reward systems, social stories and games.
Since each reward system, is individualized and change as needed, it is extremely helpful to have extra supplies on hand.
Children learn best through play, the ink pads and dough and paint stamp kit and shape stampers will allow students to build literacy and math skills.
