My Students

We are a fourth grade classroom consisting of apporixmately 20 students.

My students are amazing!

They enjoy activities where they can "see" their learning through movement, hands-on, engaging ways. The types of learners vary from auditory, visual, and kinesthetic with the majority being kinesthetic. Movement is key in their learning. They love being able to move around the classroom to do work. I love their passion for learning and they truly enjoy being around each other and being at school.

My Project

With the requested resources, students will have choices for flexible seating that will allow them to move while they learn. This movement allows students to focus more on their thought processes and their learning while working independently. For example, students could use wobble cushions to sit on the floor around the classroom and work allowing them to move to keep the blood flowing. Flexible seating creates an environment of choice and responsibility. A student may need a space all their own to work. Beanbag chairs provide a comforting individual space.

Studies show that students increase learning through moving around the classroom and movement at their seats.
