Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Unfortunately, over a year ago our news media program was cancelled due to the safety issue of the lamps. They weren't sturdy and could only use florescent bulbs (poisonous gas). The new Aputure Amaran Lamp and Aputure Amaran Light Dome were approved to be used in a school setting through consultation of a professional video equipment technician.

The primary purpose of a news media program is to cultivate critical thinking skills, promote media literacy, and enhance students understanding of current events.

By engaging with news content in a classroom setting, students learn how to analyze information, differentiate between facts and opinions, and develop a healthy skepticism towards sources of information.

This program also aims to foster curiosity, encourage students to ask questions about the world around them, and to instill a sense of civic responsibility. By introducing young learners to the principles of journalism and ethical reporting, news media programs help shape informed and engaged citizens who are capable of navigating the complexities of the modern media landscape.

Furthermore, such programs can enhance students communication skills, creativity, and confidence in expressing their thoughts and opinions. By participating in activities such as writing articles, conducting interviews, or creating multimedia presentations, students develop valuable skills that are essential for success in both academic and professional settings.

Overall, a news media program for elementary school students serve as a platform for promoting critical thinking, media literacy, civic engagement, and communication skills among young learners, preparing them to be active participants in an increasingly interconnected and information-rich society.
