Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have the pleasure of teaching second grade at a diverse charter school in Nevada. It is a Title I school where the majority of students come from bilingual homes and all students receive free breakfast and lunch.
No matter the challenges my students face at home, they come to school eager to learn with a huge smile on their face.
Our school is truly a community. We are one big family who works together to ensure the success of our students, no matter the obstacles. Our students know that anything is possible and they work hard to achieve their goals.
My Project
Our school is fortunate enough to be able to offer after school activities for all of our students! I work with the after school program where I tutor my students for the first half and do a fun enrichment activity for the second half. My 2nd graders love to play all types of games for enrichment, but I need your help!
This project will get my students excited to participate in our after school program!
I often rely on garage sales or borrowed and donated games, but with the given state of our country, my students would benefit from having brand new games! In my project you will see a variety of games for the enrichment portion and also some helpful tools for the tutoring portion!
