Many of my students are English language learners. Most students do not have access to technology at home. I want to be able to offer a wide variety of technology for my students in the classroom. Providing them with this opportunity would greatly increase their motivation for reading. My students need iPods so they can access audiobooks and ebooks to continue their pursuit of reaching their academic goals. Adding iPods to our classroom would greatly increase engagement. It would also add a listening center and provide students with the opportunity to listen to an audiobook while also following along. This will provide my students a model of fluent reading and help them to focus on the sounds they are hearing without interruption.
