We're Hot For Hot Dots!

My students need Hot Dots pens as well as interactive cards focusing on phonics skills, spelling, and first grade reading skills.

My Students

My students are first graders in a high poverty elementary school in Delaware. I teach 22 students in the morning and 22 in the afternoon. My students spend part of their day learning in English with me and the other part of their day learning Spanish in a Spanish immersion classroom. My students love to learn and I want to make learning fun and exciting for them. I teach reading and writing to 47 students with a wide range of abilities, including special education students, in our school's Spanish immersion program.

My students come to school every day ready to learn.

They love to listen to stories, engage in literacy discussions, and share their experiences through their writing. My students work very hard every day to become bilingual learners.

My Project

Can you imagine a pen that talks? My kids will think these are awesome! These fun and engaging cards provide thought provoking questions regarding phonics, spelling, and reading skills important for first grade students. During our center time, students will use the pens to engage in literacy learning with their peers or independently to master these important first grade skills. The pens provide immediate visual (the pens light up and turn red if the answer is wrong, or green if the answer is correct) and verbal feedback for students, so they instantly know whether they are correct or not. My students will be thrilled to add Hot Dots learning to our daily center activities.
