My students need new chapter books, such as Clementine and I Survived the Bombing of Pearl Harbor, to read during our language arts period.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are hooked on reading, but they are running out of books!
I teach 4th grade at an elementary school in a high need community.
Despite these challenges, our students have received various awards from our district and state. In 2010, our school was named a California Distinguished School. Through reading, my students will expand their knowledge which will in turn change their lives and futures. Your donation will help maintain motivation in my students that already love to read. You can help create life-long readers!
My Project
I am requesting books to add to our small classroom library. My students' excitement for reading is contagious, and I want to feed their love of reading with new chapter books. These books are also great learning tools because they provide rich vocabulary, characters, and life lessons. I also want to provide my students with as many learning opportunities as possible outside of textbooks. These chapter books will allow my students to connect with books in a amazing way!
Many of my students do not have the opportunity to read chapter books with their families.
However, with your donation my students will have the opportunity to read a new and thrilling chapter book with their whole class! Remember the way you felt when you read a book that you could not put down? That's my hope for my students that they will find a book that they can't put down!
