This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Have you ever just needed to get up and move?! I know my students feel that way every day. So, imagine if there was a way that my students could move while sitting at their desks...sounds amazing, right? With the use of stability ball they can satisfy their need to wiggle while they work!

My kiddos are caring, respectful, and energetic.

They truly value their time at school, as it is their safe haven. While our school is large, it operates as a tight-knit community of staff that supports not only the students but their parents as well.

My Project

I have a very active group of students who would benefit tremendously from incorporating movement into their learning. Having stability balls in the classroom would maximize the potential for kinesthetic learning. Most of my students do not have yards to go home to play in, or large homes with spaces of their own to expend their energy. Since they spend such a large part of their day in the classroom, the 22 stability balls would allow them to use their wiggles in a productive way and encourage alertness. My students tend to come to school with a lot on their minds and could channel that energy into using their stability ball and pass some of their stress and nervous energy off to the stability ball! They would also benefit greatly from knowing that donors believed in them and wanted to support them in their effort to learn. They deserve the world, and I am determined to find ways to give it to them!

It is a affirmation to my students that they are cared about and deserving. They deal with so many things at such a young age that I want school to be their safe place, and hub for learning with every advantage possible. I truly believe that the stability balls will provide a place for students to channel their energy and will help strengthen their ability to focus as they learn.
