My Students

I'm a dedicated preschool teacher for 48 children at a Title I school. I teach two classes of preschool students. I have 24 kids who come to school in the morning and 24 kids who come to school in the afternoon. The children in my classes have ample opportunities to explore and learn in a hands-on learning environment. My students always come to school excited and ready to discover new things. I’m always amazed at how much my students learn in such a short time. My students enjoy bringing their family members into the classroom to show them all the amazing things they do during the school day.

My Project

My young preschool students learn through play! I would like to set up an amazing dramatic play experience where my students can learn how to manage money. I plan to set up a market where my students can buy healthy foods. Then take the healthy food they bought and use them in a pretend restaurant. My students will learn about buying and selling food. In order to make this a reality we will need two Leapfrog count and learn cash registers, play money, pretend restaurant kit, farmers market food and salad kits. My student will use the cash registers and play money to gain financial literacy. They will use the food kits to learn about eating healthy foods.
