This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are AMAZING!!! Not many students have the opportunities to learn hands-on experience from professional chefs, but my students are indeed very fortunate to have that very opportunity. My students are introduced to the 6 pathways that are offered at our school in their freshman year; Culinary Arts is one of the pathways. After several weeks, rotations take place and students move on to the next pathway. By the end of their Sophomore year, our students select the pathway they choose to study, through their Senior year.

My students have come up with every project that we have done!!

From a student-run cafe to in-house as well of outside of our building caterings to our Fish Fry's, my students are finding ways to be proactive. Its like they all have ambitions to be entrepreneurs...which I LOVE!

My Project

In the past year, our students came up with the idea of having fish frys that were open to the public, to help with feeding the animals that are housed on our school's campus as part of our Animal Science Pathway. Over a 6 weeks time frame, our students were able to raise money through our fish frys that was able to supply the needed materials and food necessary to feed the animals through the summer months.

The requested Commerical Deep Fryers will make a difference with our students' ability, by providing real life and industrial equipment for this project and their entrepreneurship.
