My Project

Mental health is just as important as academic success, yet many of our students don't have access to a dedicated space where they can safely manage stress, regulate emotions, and recharge during the school day. As a school social worker, I work with students facing anxiety, social pressures, family challenges, and other stressors that can impact their ability to learn. When students are overwhelmed, they need more than encouragement. They need tools and a supportive environment that helps them regain a sense of calm and control.

This Wellness and Zen Room will provide students with a safe, welcoming space to decompress, practice healthy coping skills, build positive peer relationships, and return to class emotionally prepared to learn.

This space will serve as a proactive mental health support that benefits students before challenges become crises. It will be a place where students feel seen, supported, and empowered to prioritize their well-being.

The Wellness Room will feature multiple stations designed to promote relaxation, self-regulation, and social connection. Students will have access to coloring and art activities that encourage mindfulness, puzzles and brain games that improve focus, calming bean bag seating for relaxation, tables, and interactive games that foster teamwork and healthy communication. The room will also provide opportunities for students to spend positive, structured time with friends, strengthening their sense of belonging and school connectedness.

Creating this space will have a lasting impact on our school community. Students who can effectively manage stress are better able to engage in learning, build healthy relationships, and make positive decisions. By supporting social-emotional growth and mental wellness, we are helping students develop skills that will benefit them far beyond high school. Your donation will help transform an ordinary room into a powerful resource where students can reset, reconnect, and thrive academically, socially, and emotionally every day.
