This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
An organized learning environment is an efficient learning environment. I want my students to come to school everyday and be able to learn at their highest level. At this age, not only are they learning Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies, but they are also learning organizational skills that are needed later in life. By having a few items such as the mesh organizers, students will be able to more easily keep their learning supplies organized and early assessable when needed.
Each year I get a new group of amazing students who are eager to learn.
4th grade is a busy year full of learning new Math concepts and learning about the world around them. All this learning requires some basic supplies such as pencils and pencil sharpeners. I teach in a high poverty part of the city where many families struggle to meet their daily needs. My students do not arrive the first week of school with a backpack full of supplies.
