Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Extrinsic and intrinsic rewards are important for reinforcing positive behavior and creating a school culture of excellence and tenacity. Our Title 1 campus uses the PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support) program to reward excellent behavior. Students earn points for positive behavior and cash in their points for amazing prizes from our PBIS store that are distributed to them weekly.

These hanging racks will allow us to organize and distribute positive reinforcement prizes to our student body.

Our campus layout is a quarter of a mile from one side of the campus to the other. These rolling carts will enable us to get their prizes easily from our first grade wing to our fifth graders clear across campus. We will also be able to hand out these prizes without interrupting instruction. Our students work very hard to earn their points for prizes by following expectations from our behavior matrix. Every teacher rewards students using their PBIS app.

Continuing our positive reinforcement system consistently will ensure that we continue to foster our student growth and maintain our school culture.
