Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a dedicated National Board Certified Education Specialist working in a high school environment. Our Title I school serves a diverse population, and I am inspired by the determination of my students as they navigate social, emotional, and academic challenges. In my Community-Based Instruction (CBI) class, we have had the opportunity to engage in various activities, including joining the yearbook staff, participating in school events, volunteering in the community, and serving on the Associated Student Body (ASB). My students thrive in movement and hands-on experiences, and I am truly honored to be their teacher, striving to encourage them to surpass their greatest expectations.

My class is reading “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe”.

This novel study provides a wonderful opportunity to bring learning to life! As we continue reading, I would love to surprise my students by transforming our classroom into Narnia. Each time we read a chapter, students will have the opportunity to dress up as different characters and act out parts of the story using the requested materials. I will also create a magical Narnia backdrop featuring snow and the iconic lamppost. How fun!

This immersive experience will help students connect more deeply with the story and watch it come to life before their eyes. I am incredibly excited to create this fun and memorable learning experience for my students. Thank you for your consideration and support!
