This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My classroom is open to everyone and celebrates diversity. I want students to come in and see someone who represents them and inspires them. Teaching US History, many do not get to learn about different people since we follow our curriculum, so I supplement their learning with learning about different people in history from different cultures and backgrounds. I celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, Native Peoples Month, Black History Month, Women's Month, and Asian American Heritage Month. We celebrate Autism Awareness Month, and around the room, they see inspiring people to help others or invent/discover for the good of all.
