Help me give my students supplies to create fiber arts projects! My students love to create with their hands and do fiber arts projects using looms for weaving, embroidery floss, embroidery hoops, fabric, and books.
My students love to find creative outlets and incorporate the arts into their daily work every chance they can. This helps them engage in their work and deepens their understanding of a topic by looking at if from different perspectives. My students come from an economically disadvantaged neighborhood and our school is 100% free lunch. Students may come into the classroom hungry, tired, and dealing with a range of emotions.
As teachers, we do everything we can to create an environment of safety, love, and learning.
We engage our students in many different ways and try to meet their basic needs while still teaching them the standards. Help us continue to incorporate the arts into our education!
My Project
My students love to create and do hands on activities. With a loom, embroidery hoops and thread, students can learn how to weave and stitch. They will build fine motor skills by weaving and learn various stitches with embroidery. They can create arrays for math, complimentary colors for art, and visuals for their personal narrative stories.
Let's bring back the art and joy of creating lasting and meaningful artwork!
Students will be able to learn skills while incorporating art into their daily lives. Embroidery and weaving will teach focus, concentration, patience and the process of creating something special and lasting.
