My students need more weaving tools! The students have enjoyed our fiber arts studio. I would like to make it more social with the Friendly Loom, will allow multiple students to work at the same time.

My Students
As our school's art teacher, STEM CoChair, and Instructional Tech Guru, I am able to see my 400 students in many different capacities. We are one of the smallest elementary schools in our county but have an amazing community of families, teachers, and partners who have the largest hearts!
Last year, our school earned STEM Certification and for me that means adding the "A" for Art into the, now STEAM, process!
While working through the STEM process my students are able to collaborate, be creative, use their critical thinking skills, and learn to better communicate with their peers.
The neighborhood is composed of a mix of apartments, condominiums, older homes and new in-fill housing. One of our school's strongest assets is the program for mainstreaming hearing impaired students in all aspects of instructional and curricular activities.
My Project
This Friendly Loom and yarn will add to our Fiber Arts studio and allow multiple students to work at the same time on a project. We can create large tapestries to hang on the walls of our school too!
I hope to use this loom to create a larger collaborative project that students can work on at any age and grede level.
We can also have several weaving projects going on at the same time - so the students can socialize while they work. This is a great past time of working in Fibers!
The Fiber Arts studio in the art room is a popular place to create works of art. I hope that adding this to the studio will allow more students the opportunity to create weavings.
