My Students

My students come from North East DC, an area of the city where students are sometimes overlooked. Access to a great education is something that all students should have. My students are funny, full of life, and enjoy learning. They know the importance of showing up and showing out. They encourage each other to do well in my classes and all their classes. Students who come to our school come for athletics or for one of our NAF Academies. We have three academies, the Academy of Finance, the Academy of Engineering, and the Academy of Information Technology.

My Project

Wear Your Dream will be an Academy of Finance Entrepreneurial project for my students. Students are empowered by the things that they believe in. Seeing financial freedom is something they do not see on a everyday basis.

By creating a school business of creating t-shirts for people with big DREAMS will help them see the things they create will allow someone to WEAR THEIR DREAM.

Students will work with their customers to create one-of-a-kind slogans to produce t-shirts and other wearable items with their DREAM on them.

Students will be trained on the Cricut 3 machine to make the designs and transfers for production. Having the students become designers will give them insight on how to be an entrepreneur and help them on their road to financial freedom.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
