My Students

My second grade students are curious, loving, brave, intelligent and wonderful citizens. They are also resilient. They come to school dedicated to learn despite the hardships that happen at home, in their neighborhood, and in the world. They impress me every single day with their desire to learn.

My Project

My expectations are high. We work hard all day as we learn how to decode words, comprehend text, foundational writing skills, number sense and social emotional learning. With all that hard work comes the sweet success of growth! I would like to add these items to our celebration tools! Our class motto is, "we work hard, we play hard". Seven and eight year olds should have plenty of opportunities to collaborate with friends through play! While celebrating learning, they are also learning to share, work with classmates and decision making.
