My students need 4 Wobble Stools (Active Learning Chair/Stool) so they can have the most conducive learning environment possible. The option to wobble, while sitting at a desk, will help them stay alert and focused.
I teach 4th graders at Waukee Elementary and they are the best! My Students are excited to come to school every day and eager to learn new things. I love the personalities that develop throughout the year for 9 and 10 year olds. It's amazing to see them grow and become independent students.
I am extremely proud of the leadership skills that I see from each student who walks into our classroom.
Whether it is the quiet leaders who are always kind to others at recess, the students welcoming visitors to our building, or the leaders speaking at assemblies, it is amazing to see how our school is run by students. Our school environment is focused around leadership. This includes learning ways to be proactive, collaborate and set goals. These practices allow for every student to learn from failure, celebrate achievements and grow as leaders.
I have learned that the more choice I give my students, the more engaged they are in their learning. This begins with the furniture in our classroom. I have always included bean bag chairs, floor spots, a couch and pillows in my classroom for reading time but I am excited to include more options this year that can be used during all subject areas.
Wobble Stools (Active Learning Chair/Stools) are a great option for students who still want to work at a desk or table, but want to be able to move a little to help them concentrate.
It's also a safe way for students to get their wiggles out instead of leaning back on chair legs, etc. Providing different seating in my classroom is just one of the many ways that I meet the diverse learning needs of my students.
