I have learned that the more choice I give my students, the more engaged they are in their learning. This begins with the furniture in our classroom. I have always included bean bag chairs, floor spots, a couch and pillows in my classroom for reading time but I am excited to include more options this year that can be used during all subject areas. Wobble Stools (Active Learning Chair/Stools) are a great option for students who still want to work at a desk or table, but want to be able to move a little to help them concentrate. It's also a safe way for students to get their wiggles out instead of leaning back on chair legs, etc. Providing different seating in my classroom is just one of the many ways that I meet the diverse learning needs of my students.
