My Students
Everyday our kids hear about the need to help save our planet but they are rarely given chances to act. At our school we have a budding recycling program that we would like to take school wide.
My students are from low to middle income homes in a rapidly developing area.
Just a few years ago they tried to put a landfill in our town but due to new developments, they were unsuccessful.
Just like our town, our school is growing. Every year we hit a new record for enrollment. With larger numbers of students we also have a larger amount of trash.
My Project
I am asking for ten recycling bins so we can increase our program by ten classrooms. Each collection day I have teachers ask me for a bin but I am unable to provide them with anything more than a temporary cardboard box. With these bins, recycling will become an everyday habit that will continue with them after they leave middle school. I am also asking for a Reduce, Reuse, Recycle game to help educate the students about what they can do everyday to make the world a greener place.
It is so important that while our students learn about being good stewards of the earth that they also act.
Your donation will allow my students to be green and improve their corner of the world. As they grow we can hope they take these lessons with them and influence others.
