We Want To Read

My students need more books, with themes like the Classics, Community Workers, Classroom Favorites and more, for our reading library! Help us build our library so we can read more and have the resources to read! We need big books and collection books.

My Students

Can you imagine kindergarten without reading books! The imagination and experience reading can take you many places. My students come from homes with no one to read to them, some have never owned a book because it is too expensive for them. Help my students read!

Our school is a Title 1 school in a low income area, and the majority of my students are English language learners.

My students love to come to school and are very curious about the world around them. They especially love listening to me read and exploring the books!

My Project

Unfortunately, because of the rough neighborhoods and the fact that most of them live in poverty, they have had limited exposure to reading. Being read to is one of the most important aspects of learning how to read. I would love to provide all my students with as much of exposure as they can get with good reading resources. I have requested multicultural books, community helper books, big books, book storage bins, and a variety of other books.

The donations made to this request will make a huge difference in children's lives, especially those in poverty.

Books are critical to reading. A picture means a thousand words and that is only the beginning of what my students will experience with their curiosity with the books from this donation.
