This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are beginning their journey as readers. Help me bring books and age appropriate magazines into their little hands.

I teach at a dual-immersion school in southern California.

A majority of my students are second-language learners and come from impoverished households. Although my students are bright and eager to learn, educational resources are scarce in their homes.

My Project

My kindergarten kiddos are on their way to being great scholars. It all starts with reading. These simple to read textbooks will help my students reinforce decoding skills & aid in learning sight words. The colorful, child-friendly magazines will peak their interest with topics in social studies and science. My students will be able to take them home and begin building a reading library.

My children are just unlocking the doorway to imagination, possibilities and learning through reading.

Your help will make their journey easier and more hands-on. Students will be supported by the letter and sight word books, and will be eager to read the child-appropriate magazines. These magazines are also important because they will be taken home to share with their family and provide reading material at home.
