We Want to Create Our Own Books

My students need a photo printer, extra ink, binding spirals, and photo paper.

I teach Kindergarten through 5th grade at a high poverty school in rural South Carolina. The students are English Language Learners who are struggling with literacy skills.

The students are learning English and have no language support at home, as most of their family members speak little or no English either. The students need to create books with personal meaning and their own words to increase literacy.

They need a color printer, extra ink, binding spirals and photo paper to begin writing and publishing their own books to read with other students and their families. By utilizing technology, the students will be more motivated and more successful in becoming competent readers and writers.

Your support will give these students the tools they need to write, illustrate, and publish their own personal books to read with other students and family members, increasing literacy in the whole community.
