This year our school implemented a new program involving students that need Title 1 services. Our Title 1 teachers now come to the room daily for groups. During this time, I am also working with an intervention group. That means my other students that are not yet with a teacher group have to be independent workers. We really struggled with this the beginning of Kindergarten. How can we be independent workers? We are 4 or 5! We finally figured out around March how to work on our own and let the teachers work with small groups. It was not easy, we had lots of trials and errors. We like technology and ipads but our teacher really wants use to use our fine and gross motor skills.
We need items that are engaging to us!
We love to build with our hands, play with play dough, magnetics, playing in the toy kitchen. We love Legos, Barbies, and playing house with our mini cottage our teacher thrifted for us. We are learning when we play and our teacher can help others during group time!
