Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a second grade teacher to 23 motivated and enthusiastic learners. My students love to learn and become very motivated with hands-on learning. My students come from low-income homes.

My classroom is full of eager learners who find value in reading and learning.

They face daily life challenges at home, so I want to provide the best possible learning experience for them here at school! They come to school happy and ready to learn each and every day. I work to foster a love for learning and doing what is best for my students.

My Project

My students are requesting Garmin activity trackers, a stop watch, and jump ropes to increase activity during the school day. The activity trackers track student steps through out the school day. The Garmin activity tracker also tracks inactivity, so students will know when they need to get up and move around! My students get to use pedometers in P.E class at certain times during the year. They love to share how many steps they took, or how big they got their number. My students are requesting these activity trackers so we can track our steps throughout the whole day.

My students like to move, being active increase their engagement during our learning time.

My students are also requesting a stop watch, to time our brain break times. They are also requesting jump ropes to use during recess. This last year many jump ropes were damaged, and my students would like more to replace the broken ones.
