Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Some students were not made to sit still, and I encourage that. My students are in kindergarten and have some special needs. We are located in an urban area students all receive free breakfast and lunch.
Every day we start off with our breakfast in the classroom followed by our morning circle time.
My students love to look at the weather and to see who is here, then talk about their nights. We are building a strong classroom environment one day at a time.
My students are hands on interested learners with a lot of energy to learn in all different ways throughout the day.
My Project
Students shouldn't have to sit still to pay attention. I want my students to feel free to explore the world even if that means wobbling around on balls instead of chairs. This would make them focus on sitting rather then falling off the ball which in turns keeps the students more focused.
I want my students to learn through tactile means, and explore everything around them.
With the modeling dough students will be able to create things and make words and have something in their hands to help them with all subjects.
Having the ability to dress the part while you are learning would mean the world to my students. I would like them to play dress up in different community outfits to bring out their different unique personalities.
