My 150 poverty level high school students have been working hard on a textile design project. We are partway through and our markers have run dry. The students are eager to finish their intricate design work but there is no money for new markers so that they can finish their beautiful designs. This is just one more frustration and disappointment in their lives that are full of substandard supplies and facilities. We do not have a library in our high school or a gym or even a sink in the art room. I am trying desperately to provide them with one area of learning where they have what they need to do a good job and experience the satisfaction of success. Your help would give them hope that someone cares enough to provide what they need to learn and succeed. We need gel and poster paint markers so students can complete this project and use it in their college portfolio applications.
