We Need to Hear Over Here!

My students need headphones to hear on all of the wonderful technology that I am lucky to have access to on my campus!

My Students

My campus is an International Baccalaureate school that focuses on play and exploration as a tool for learning.

My kindergarten class is very inquisitive, diverse, and loves learning!

They always keep me on my toes with excellent questions! We love to explore with hands-on materials and use tactile learning whenever we can.

We even have a "free explore" time at the end of the day when we get to construct MakerSpace creations from recycled materials, play with pupppets, games, dress-up, and so much more! It is by far the best part of the day for students, but they are also learning critical social and behavioral skills at this time that are paramount to early learning.

My kindergartners go to Spanish class during the day and also have access to an Inquiry Lab where we get to explore even more amazing technologies and tools!

My favorite thing about my class is that we are always learning together. Whether it is me researching a question they have asked, students making suggestions for classroom changes, and the class working together to solve problems--learning happens in the most fun and unexpected ways everyday! It is truly a joy to learn with them.

My Project

With amazing ratios of Chromebooks, iPads, and more, we are finding ourselves unable to use them with fidelity when multiple classrooms share headphones. Not only is it spreading germs, but it isn't always feasible to track down class sets of headphones across the campus. We aren't able to use so many technology devices near as often due to not having enough headphones for students in class everyday. Sometimes they are not accessible at all. We could be spending much more time devoted to 21st century learning skills and want to be using technology as much as possible! At the time, it is not possible to use our devices as often as students like, and they are constantly begging for more time-- please consider helping us hear and use our devices!
