My fourth grade students are so passionate about their learning. They come to school daily, ready to learn. They absorb every bit of information and are ready for the next new thing to be presented. My students deserve every possible opportunity to learn, and in a variety of ways to meet the needs of all my learners in my classroom.
My students come from high poverty and low-income homes.
Almost 70% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch and almost 30% of students are English Language Learners. Most of my students have a lack of resources or access to computers, tablets or internet at home because of the expense they bring to families. When most of my students walk through the door, they are often worried about not having enough or the right supplies they need to support their daily learning.
My Project
We need basic materials to support our day to day activities in our classroom. Our classroom needs; a pencil sharpener, pencils, sticky tabs, easel paper, and folders.
We use each of these items daily.
So it is time for them to be replenished in our classroom. My students take pride in our materials and we take care of them until they no longer can be used in our classroom.
These supplies would help us with our daily activities while keeping us organized in our learning. Making sure our class has the basics is extremely important, and when we don't, it can make our day to day learning a little more harder.
