We received so many packages with all our new materials for our \"Don't Let the Wolf Blow Down the Pig's House.\" We, the 40 first graders and their teachers, were so excited to open the boxes and see what we got from all the generous donors. We are very thankful for the hair dryer and STEM materials like sticks, tape, pipe cleaners, glue, clay, toothpicks and aluminum foil that were purchased because of your generosity. As soon as the students saw the materials, they were so excited to open the packages to see what materials they would have to make their pigs and houses.\r\n\r\nFirst, we made pigs out of the clay. Once the pigs were dry, the children painted their pig pink. The first graders learned the word persistence when some of their piggy noses fell off. We problem solved to attach the nose back on.\r\n\r\nAfter listening and discussing the different versions of the Three Little Pig books, each student created a blueprint of what they thought their piggy house would look like. Next, it was building day! The kids used perseverance and built their house to keep the wolf out. Finally, the BIG, BAD WOLF came to blow their house down. My students sat on our carpet and cheered when the wolf was not successful and gave suggestions to the students whose house fell.\r\n\r\nWe hope you can see how you have helped to influence the lives of many students by helping them build self-confidence, a joy for learning, and the gift of giving to others.
