This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

For my students, completing our high level of middle school work takes a lot supplies and effort! Unfortunately, they aren't able to provide their own supplies so as a teacher, I am always keeping my eyes open on the best deals to stock up on school supplies for my students!

My students are seventh and eighth graders with special needs ranging from Autism, emotional handicaps, cognitive impairments to ADHD.

Our school is a science, technology, engineering and mathematics magnet effectively serving students who live in high poverty households. Ninety percent of our students receive free or reduced lunch. Through innovative programs, we are showing some of the most rapid growth in the state as measured by standardized test score improvement.

My Project

My students need school supplies to help our class run smoothly and effectively. These supplies including pencils, erasers, stress balls, individual dry erase boards, markers, hole punches, and paper will give my students the tools they need to produce work they can be proud of. Most of their families are unable to provide their children with all of the supplies they need for middle school. It is unfair to those students who can't afford supplies to not have access to them. The supplies purchased through this project will be ones that help all students and are staples in my high-functioning classroom.

My students have many sources of stress in their daily lives.

By providing these school supplies that they will be able to use as needed, we are eliminating one more source of stress so that my students and their families can focus on the path to success!
