Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students love coming to school every day. I teach 24 wonderful and enthusiastic kindergartners. A majority of my students are English Language Learners, with Spanish or Vietnamese as their first language.
My school is a Title I school, in California.
A full 81% of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch. My students may not have many material things, but they always try their best and never give up. They are hard workers, and I am so proud of my students!
My Project
My students love and enjoy creating art. They like making puppets out of construction paper and glue sticks. I am requesting for basic art supplies such as colorful construction paper and glue sticks. My students also make an alphabet animal every week. This week, my students used construction paper to make Ollie Octopus because we are learning the letter Oo. Making these alphabet animals help my students learn the letters and sounds. Every week my students look forward to make the animal of the week. By the end of the school year, each student will have a set of alphabet animals as a keepsake. Your donations will help make these activities possible!
