Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many of my students and families are economically challenged as they have immigrated to the U.S.A. They do not have credit cards, so they cannot rent musical instruments from music stores. My students and families also cannot afford to outright purchase musical instruments. Our school population is growing, and we especially need more violins to loan to our students in need.

Many of my students are learning English as a second language, and music provides them a creative outlet where all can participate without the language barrier and experience success at school in the orchestra program.

There are many studies on the benefits of playing a musical instrument, including that on brain growth and health. My students are excited to learn, as many have never seen or heard an instrument played live before. Please help me provide string instruments to my students who need them!
