This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I work as a special education teacher in a low-income, high-poverty school district. My students are faced with numerous challenges both in and out of the classroom. I have the privilege to teach from grades kindergarten through fifth. I try to provide my students with all the necessities in the class.

My students love to laugh and tell jokes to one another and start laughing before they even tell the punchline and then you can hear an echo of laughter ring throughout the classroom.

My students work super hard and are excited to learn!

My Project

I teach in a self-contained third through fifth-grade autism unit. I try to make sure my students have everything they need in order to be successful. My classroom needs Lyson disinfectant, Clorox Wipes, and masks. We recently have run out and I am having to purchase these items myself so that my classroom will remain safe.

We are in need of these items in order to keep our classroom clean and free of germs.
